July 25th & 26th
2009
Traditional Board Games Tournament organized by KAVADE
Games: Chowkabara, Pagade, Aluguli mane & Adu-Huli aata.
Ms Deepa Ravichandran-Principal, Floretz Montessori School inaugurated the tournament. On both the days, the enthusiasm quotient was very high with an eclectic mix of emotions; cries of joy, screams of winning-maybe a pawn was cut or someone threw a chouka or baara. It was a very spirited tournament.
Dr Balambal, an Avid Historian, Academician & games enthusiast, author of the book “Folk games of Tamilnadu”, enlightened the gathering on the many aspects of our traditional games & gave away the prizes.
